Sacred Books Project

What am I doing?

Religion is today, like through all of human history, among the most important and interesting topics yet I feel woefully ignorant about the multitude of beliefs held by people across the planet. This is a project to expand my horizons on the topic by reading many of the great sacred books of world history and recording my thoughts and reactions. Hopefully, I can spur some thought about what faith means to humanity. By learning exactly what I agree with and disagree with in human faiths, and why, I feel I would have a much better voice in discussions of the place of religion in today’s society. Please forgive my ramblings, my thoughts tend to wander during the course of my writing. I am not a theologian or religious scholar, so I’m going into this without much prior knowledge, I’m basically just doing this for pleasure. Perhaps my scrawled reflections might be a little entertaining for others, too. Thanks for stopping by!

About author

Wandering about with shiny new masters of library science and history, I'm a "freelance" librarian trying to turn my dilettante education and diverse interests into a career. In the meantime, nothing beats a mug of tea and a good book on those cold Minnesota evenings.
